About this deal

The TCL 673K Series is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-quality viewing experience. Its 65-inch 4K QLED display provides stunning colour accuracy and contrast, while its HDR support ensures a vibrant and lifelike picture. The TV also offers easy access to streaming services, voice control, and Bluetooth connectivity. The 55C735K’s Onkyo sound system is solid-to-good for such an affordable TV. It can go impressively loud, for starters, and it can also project that volume a healthy distance to the left and right of the TV’s bodywork, creating a wide soundstage.

TCL QLED C735 Google TV Review | 65inch 4K Gaming Display

At this price, sound quality is often flat and uninspiring – but TCL’s down-firing full-range speakers sound pretty good. TCL hasn't been shy in promoting the gaming-friendly features of the likes of the C73K, with screens starting from 43-inches. Introducing the C935U, P733W and S522W Soundbars The TCL C715 supports Dolby Atmos, but it isn’t the over your head surround sound kind. Still, with Atmos/5.1 content (The Amazing Spider-Man, Passengers, Skyfall), there’s a sense of height as Spider-Man swings through New York. And, as Bond sets after assassins at the beginning of Skyfall, the sound is convincingly expansive, clear and detailed, offering some decent welly as things get hectic. The TCL C93K Mini LED also comes IMAX Enhanced to help maximise the home cinema experience in your living room. You could also take a similar approach to the Movie mode settings, if you don’t mind colours looking quite substantially flatter. UHD QLED display produces 4x the resolution of Full HD, delivering stunning image clarity and vibrant colours The intense colours are at their best with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ sources. The extra scene-by-scene picture information these two formats provide appears to help the set rein in its most aggressive colour instincts to deliver punchy but also mostly believable and balanced tones. So much so that pictures actually look much more dynamic and bold than the good (for this price level) peak measured brightness of around 540 nits would lead you to expect. The 65C815K exhibits mixed fortunes with its contrast. Watching it in a dark room using its out-of-the-box presets, three contrast points immediately stood out: two good, one bad.

What Hi-Fi? TCL 55C735K review - What Hi-Fi?

Percentage luminance drop at 35 degree horizontal angle from the centre of the screen with 100% white output Particularly welcome is how well the sound swells forward and out from the built-in soundbar. This provides far more impact and detail than the more ‘swallowed’ effect you typically get with TVs that house all their speakers behind their screens. The 55C735K marks a watershed moment for TCL’s fortunes in the European market as it finally sees the brand managing to combine a feature count that embarrasses many much more expensive TVs with some properly decent picture and sound quality. All at a price that will have more established rivals quaking in their boots.Dolby VisionTM and Dolby AtmosTM bring the life-like picture and sound straight to your living room Dolby Vision improves on this with its Bright mode (the Dark version is quite dim). On Skyfall (4K Dolby Vision), colours are expressive, detail levels are great, and the TV digs up the fine detail in close ups of Craig’s hair and scars. In fact, the 55C735K even supports the Dolby Vision IQ system, where the advanced Dolby Vision picture settings can automatically adjust themselves to compensate for the amount of ambient light in your room so that you still get the right level of HDR impact.

TCL TV C735-QLED-4K HDR PRO-ONKYO-Google TV-TCL Global

The TCL 55C735K’s theme of punching well above its price weight continues with its picture performance. Once you’ve tweaked away one or two preset gremlins, anyway. HDR10 and HLG compatibility ensures that content is displayed at its fullest potential with vivid colour and bright highlights Impressively, the 65C815K supports both of the so-called active high dynamic range (HDR) formats: HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Most rival TVs support only one or other of these formats, or neither of them – and, as we’ll see, this dual active HDR support is especially important to the 65C815K’s performance. With the ONKYO speakers, viewers can enjoy immersive Dolby Atmos sound quality on the TV or pass it to a TCL Sound Bar. There's a bezel less design with a matching central stand allowing the TV to fit on any surface at home. Release DateThe out-of-box settings needs tweaking, and if you’re not interested or au fait with this side of TV set-up, you may not like the image the TCL initially offers.
